Wasaga Beach Kiteboarding on Georgian Bay
Kiting activities: Kiteboarding, windsurfing and SUP. Land boarding and buggy kiting off season only.
Rider skills/level: Beginners with an instructor, intermediate and advanced kiteboarders must have self-rescue experience.
Water conditions: Usually choppy, smaller waves that can reach up to 3m on stronger winds over 25 knots. Shallow close to the shore. Large sandy beach with clean freshwater. In the summer the beach gets crowded with swimmers and not recommended for solo beginners. You must be able stay upwind away from swimmers buoys.
Wind direction: The best winds for this spot are W, NW, N.

Kite Launching Instructions
There is a special designated kite launching area located at the south part of the public beach. The ministry has placed a sign with rules and restrictions for kiteboarders. Please, read them first before using this beach! Launch the kite only at the kiteboarding beach area. If you are a beginner consider taking kiteboarding lessons at Wasaga Beach. How to get here: Drive on HWY 26 and follow the sign to Wasaga Beach.
Parking: Paid parking near the beach or parking at a provincial park picnic area nearby. Unpaid parking will be ticketed and/or towed.
Rules: During the swimming season, please use only designated kiteboarding area. Respect the locals and obey the rules and restrictions posted on the beach.
