With its constant trade winds, shallow water and tropical climate, St. Martin and Anguilla seem to have been created for the sole pleasures of sailing and kitesurfing. We organize our navigation plan to combine maximum wind exposure with the most spectacular destinations. Living on a luxury catamaran and cruising around the islands we have access to any kiteboarding spot in the area. Conditions are flat in the lagoons, waves on the reef and choppy for the downwinder.
Take the kiteboarding holiday of a life time with your friends and family while sailing in St Martin and Anguilla. This cruise is designed for beginners and experienced kitesurfers. We choose easy spots with shallow water to make sure you are comfortable. For the non-riders, snorkeling, stand up paddle and snorkeling will be perfect. Friends and families are welcome.
The Islands
St. Martin and Anguilla are a complete contrast to each other despite being only a few hours sail apart. Even though St. Martin is tiny it is the liveliest party island in the Caribbean. Half French and half Dutch, this place offers duty free shopping, live music beach bars & clubs, fine restaurants and local grills. Anguilla on the other hand ticks at a much slower pace and gives off a more traditional Caribbean vibe. Anguilla is a 3 hour sail away and we kite in the offshore islands along the west coast. The spots here are only accessible by boat so there are no crowds here. Nightlife is minimal which is often appreciated after the buzz of St Martin, providing a chilled contrast! Both islands boast some great kiting spots.
Kiteboarding Spots
Please note we will be adapting the itinerary according to weather conditions, so the route may change. The following map consists of recommended kiteboarding spots that we will be considering when making final planing.
Here is the description of some favorite kite spots along the cruise:
Orient Bay
This is the most fashionable beach in St. Martins on the French side. Lined with bars and restaurants Orient Bay is a great setting for a few drinks after a day of kiteboarding. Kiting here is straight off the beach and conditions are flat/choppy with some small waves on the reef.
Le Galleon
A short walk from Orient Bay this natural reserve offers great flat water kiting inside its lagoon. There are some really good waves out on the reef, but these are generally reserved for surfers.
Tintamarre
This tiny island off the north east of St Martin is a great place to start a downwinder to Orient Bay. Conditions are flat in the shelter of the island, but get choppy as you get further away from the shore.
Anguilla
Anguilla’s kite spots, such as Rendezvous Bay, Sandy Island and Prickly Pear are not crowded and most of them are only accessible by boat. Wind direction usually determines which spots we visit on the mainland and there are some all-wind direction spots on the west side of the island.
